Me and Geoff became thick as thieves. We were joint at the hip for a long time, post elementary school. I really don't know how we kept in contact, all I know is when high school hit he was right there by my side, like he had always been.
What Makes A Friend
Now most people may say, why do we need to know what makes a friend? My answer to that is, there are some people who think they have friends and they don't. There are some people who may call someone their friend and the reality is that person isn't in their corner. So to me, there are 3 things that make up a friend. The first is time.
It's not so much the time ya'll spend together, but its the time ya'll have known each other. If you think about it, most of your real friends, you probably spend about 10 hours or less a week with. But when you need them they are their in a heartbeat. Time to let you heal when you are going through pain, or they appear at the right time when you need them too. They give you your space and they hold you when you cry, and they break your balls when neccassary.
This is a quality often over looked in a friend. Growth. If you need to know if someone is your friend ask yourself:
"How can this person help me grow as a person!" & "Do I help them grow as much if not more as they help me?"
